UNUM RETIREES  -- Volunteers

by Beverly J. Dahms

DID YOU KNOW …

All retirees of Union Mutual, UnumProvident, and Unum are automatically members of Unum Retirees?

DID YOU KNOW…

Every hour volunteered at a non-profit organization (501C3) by Unum Retirees is matched, one dollar per hour,
minimum of 50 hours, up to a maximum of $500 annually by the company?

You are able to report your volunteer hours directly to UNUM by using the form and printing it from the UNUM
Retirees website. (www.unumretirees.org)

That’s right - no meeting, no dues - just the time you want to give as a Unum Retiree member to the non-profit
organization of your choice.

There are three “get togethers” each year - an Annual Meeting in the Fall to tally hours volunteered and to
recognize the Unum Retiree members who have given their time and talents, a Summer picnic to celebrate
and get reacquainted with former co-workers, and a Winter luncheon.

If you are already volunteering, please let us know.  If you are looking for a way to volunteer and make a
difference in the community, let us know and we can help you find the answer - whether it’s simply stuffing
envelopes (while visiting with old friends) for numerous non-profit organizations such as MS or Southern
Maine Agency on Aging, assisting with a Red Cross Blood Drive, teaching a Junior Achievement Class
or delivering Meals on Wheels, etc.  The opportunities and needs are endless!!

The Board of Directors of Unum Retirees would be happy to hear from you to answer any questions you
may have.
