We hope 2011 was a good year for you. It certainly was a challenging year for the economy. We 
began the year with our winter meeting at Keeley the Katerer. We had about 60 members attending. 
We will be going to a different location next February as Keeley’s can no longer host events. Watch 
for an invitation to our Winter meeting in late January. 

Thank you to all who came to the picnic in June.  The weather was outstanding and we had about 
70 members attending. We decided to repeat the mailing to soldiers in Afghanistan. Thanks to your
generosity, the Unum Retirees again mailed more than 140 pounds of goodies to soldiers in the war 
zone. The donations included many books, games, batteries and toiletries which are much appreciated
by the soldiers.

Our Annual Meeting in September drew a bigger crowd than usual with over 90 people attending. 
We added some new members to the board, namely Bea Osterberg, Susan Bracket and Brenda 
Anastasoff. We welcome their energy. 

We are looking for your feedback about our activities. Please email me with any comments or 
suggestions about how we can make the organization a better one.
