A Trip to remember
By Gladys Yankowsky

There were four of us widows that took a cruise to Hawaii last November for 7 days.

However, getting to the ship was an adventure!

After we landed in San Diego, we were taken by bus to Ensenada, Mexico.  We were told that the trip was only an hour
and a half to get to the ship, but it took us 4 1/2 hours.  We had to go through drug infested areas and one bus was held up with
rifles being pointed at them and every piece of luggage was searched.  It was a scary ride to say the least.  Being on the bus that
long wasn't very good for any diabetics with no food or water.  We ended up having a police escort for the rest of the way.

Thank goodness, our return trip was flying back from Honolulu.

Once we got on the ship, everything was fine and we had a great time.

This is a picture of me with real birds taken in Hawaii on the island of Lahaina, Maui.

PS By the way, one of the ladies on our bus started taking pictures and the bus driver told her not to use her camera.
If the Mexicans saw a flash, they would stop the bus and confiscate the camera.
