UNUM RETIREES -- Summer Picnic 2011 By Mary Guy

The Unum Retirees annual picnic was held on Tuesday, June 21st, at the Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, on a
beautiful day in Maine.  There were over seventy members and guests in attendance.

 Flowers for the picnic tables were donated by Joan Della Torre, from her garden.  Thank you, again, Joan.

It was great to see Aron Storck, from Oklahoma; Carl Comstock and his wife, Ann, from Vermont; Some Snowbirds back
from Florida, Gil Broberg, Donalene and Tom Fox, Ernie Ryder and his wife, Joanne, Jennifer and Ron Sturzenberger and
Cathy Lachance.

Many games were played including Bingo, with Bob Wooten calling the numbers.  Gail Gagnon, Unum Sr. Billing Rep, who
is our liaison on the Blood Drives, showed her hidden talent as a repeater Bingo winner (two wins in a row!).

Many items were collected for the Special Project for the shipment to servicemen/women overseas. Roger Rioux will
report further on this project.

For you people who know our retiree Louise Durgin and her lucky lottery history, she won again.  She used her recent
winnings for shopping for our Special Project.  Louise noted that Kool-Aid was not on our list.  Her nephew who served
overseas told her it was a big item and she added it to her list.

Special thanks to all who assisted in making the day go smoothly!
