Alan Van Orden Cook, 76, of Yarmouth, died on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012.
He was born in Tuxedo, N.Y., graduated from Bates College, worked at Unum
and loved his family and his community.
Alan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean (Burgess) Cook of Yarmouth.
Visiting hours were held Oct. 20, 2012  at the Lindquist Funeral Home.

Wilma Bott 'Elizabeth' 'Billie' Hieronymus went to rest on June 29, 2012
following a courageous bout with cancer.  Elizabeth was born on March 14,
1947 in Long Branch, N.J.  She was a graduate of Menlo Atherton High
School and Scripts College of California in 1965 and 1969, respectively.
Elizabeth lived in Boston and worked at Harvard University for several years
prior to receiving her M.B.A from Boston University in 1981.  She was an
analyst in mortgages, real estate and auditing for Unum Corporation until
retiring in 1999 to Belmont, Maine.  While working for Unum  Elizabeth
received the prestigious 'Chairman's Award'.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Leonard C. Hieronymus.
A Celebration of Life for Elizabeth was held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the family
home, located
in Belmont, Maine.   In lieu of flowers the Hieronymus family
suggests memorials be made in
Elizabeth's name to: The Center for Maine
Contemporary Art or: the Belfast Senior College.

Susan Hudson-Wilson, of Chebeague Island, and Vieques, Puerto Rico, died
unexpectedly in Nairobi, Kenya on Oct. 5, 2012.  She was married 41 years
to John D. Wilson.  In the commercial real estate industry she worked with
Unum, John Hancock Life, and Aldrich, Eastman, and Waltch (AEW).  
Susan founded Property & Portfolio Research in 1994, selling the company
and retiring in 2004.   In lieu of flowers , donations can be sent to:

Michelle Simone Janson, 53, of the lower village in Kennebunk, died on Sept.
23, 2012, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough surrounded by
her loving family.  She was born in Attleboro, Mass. on June 5, 1959.  She grew
up in the Attleboro area and graduated from Bishop Feehan High School in
1977.   Following high school, she attended the College of the Holy Cross in
Worcester, Mass., where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
economics.  She also earned a master's degree in Business Administration from
New Hampshire College.  She was recruited by Unum (then known as Union Mutual)
and moved to Maine after graduation from Holy Cross.  
In her first year in Maine she also began working on her master's degree.  In her
first class she
met a young naval officer who also just started graduate school and
would soon become the love
of her life.  They married on April 9, 1983, and would
have celebrated their 30th wedding
anniversary next year.  Michelle continued
working for Unum, mostly part time while she raised
her family. She is survived by
her loving husband of 29 years, Daniel Patrick Janson of Kennebunk.
Calling hours were held on Sept. 26, 2012 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel in
Kennebunk.  A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Sept. 27, 2012, at Holy
Spirit Parish - Saint Martha's
Church, Route 1, Kennebunk.  Interment followed at
Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.

Helen M. Lawrence, 87, of South Portland died on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2012,
seven short months after losing her husband of 65 years.
She was born in South Portland on Aug. 7, 1925, and attended local schools.
Before starting a family, Helen worked at Union Mutual Life Insurance
Company.   Visitation was held on Oct. 4, 2012 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins
Funeral Home, in Portland.  
To continue the love Helen had for animal welfare  memorial donations may
be made in Helen's name to any animal welfare organization.

Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Main, age 63, passed away at Mercy Hospital
surrounded by family on Sept. 16, 2012,  due to complications from
pulmonary fibrosis.  She was born on July 11, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio. 
Betsy grew up in Monroe, Mich. and Winchester, Mass.  She had degrees
from Albion College, Eastern Michigan University, and Andover College.
She worked at Unum as a systems analyst and project leader.
A talented singer, she was very active in the local theater community where
she met her future husband, John Main, to whom she was married for 32
years.   She is survived  by her husband, John.
Visiting hours were held on Sept. 21 at the Hobbs Funeral Home  in South Portland.
The
funeral was held on Sept. 22 at the First United Methodist Church in South
Portland.

Hazel E. McCrum, 89, passed away on Sept. 8, 2012.  She was born on May 22,
1923.  A life long resident of Portland, she graduated from Deering High School
in 1941 and attended the Pace Institute in Washington, D.C.
She was employed by Unum after college and moved to Melrose, Mass., in 1950,
where she worked for John Hancock and the Sheraton.  In 1970 she returned
home  and worked for the Boys Club and E. C. Jordan.  She retired from E. C.
Jordan in 1982.
A graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery on Sept. 17, 2012.

Charlene Linko Schoubroek, 65, of Channelview, Texas, passed away on
June 14, 2012.   She was born in Portland on Jan. 23, 1947.
Charlene graduated from Deering High School in 1965.
While living in Portland she worked for Forest City Chevrolet and Unum.
Charlene moved to Texas in the 1990s.
A graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, on July 7.
