UNUM
RETIREES ~ Volunteers by Beverly J. Dahms |
The Unum Retiree
membership was asked to provide the Board with an estimate of the number of
hours that they volunteered
during the period of September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013.
I am very happy to report and we received responses from about 27 of our
members and the number of volunteer hours reported was 9,771 with a couple of
months to go.
Our membership has been very busy over the last year and keep up the good
work. Some
examples of the way that we
have helped in our local communities ~
local food pantries, hospitals,
animal shelters and rescues, schools, churches, libraries,
municipalities, museums, senior citizen activities at local nursing homes, Red
Cross agencies, historical societies, local arts and
theaters and school sports.
There are also many smaller
non-profits that have been supported in our local communities by our
membership.
Again I want to remind everyone to complete the application to report your hours
for matching funds from UNUM, you will
need to go http://www.unumretirees.org
for the form.
Please complete the form and forward to Unum before the December
2, 2013
deadline
Please continue to support your local communities and non-profits.
