Our Dearly Departed

Irma M. Reed Andrews passed on peacefully on Aug. 24, 2013, in the warm comfort of her family and caring
staff of the Gosnell House.  She succumbed to a stroke after nine years of progressive dementia. 

 Irma was born in Portland in 1928, and she graduated from Portland High School in 1946.  She continued her 
studies in mathematics at Bates College, where she met her future husband, Robert Andrews.  After graduation 
in 1950, Irma and Robert married and began a 53 year life adventure. They returned to Portland in 1956.  
She began employment Union Mutual Insurance Company in 1959, from which she retired 34 years later.  

In the last six years of her life, Irma resided at the Woods at Canco with the help of her many friends and the
visiting nursing care services.  Irma was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2004.  

Friends and relatives were invited to attend a time of visitation at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 
Portland, on Aug. 28. 
Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.  Donations in memory can be given to:

Mary. (A Gagnon) Webster, 89, a lifelong Portland resident, died on Aug. 2, 2013, at Mercy Hospital.  

She was the wife of the late Walter Webster.  Mary was born in Portland on Oct. 1, 1923.  

She was a cook by trade, spending most of that career cooking at 75 State Street in Portland.  
After retiring, she went back to work for Unum. 

Relatives and friends were invited to attend a graveside service on Aug. 12, 2013, at Brooklawn 
Memorial Park in Portland.
