VALUR  Annual Meeting.

The VALUR 21st  Annual Business Luncheon meeting was held on September 15, 2009
at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland.

Bob Wooten welcomed members and guests.  Following the luncheon, Bob led a general
discussion on the  potential merger of the Headlighters and VALUR.  He advised the
proposed Mission for the combined new group would be Socializing, Volunteerism,
Communications and Unum.  The initial name for the new group would be “Unum
Retirees”.  The meeting was open for Q & A.  A vote was put to all members present,
with the majority in approval of the merger.

Bob introduced Cheryl Jensen, who gave a report of the volunteer hours submitted
for the year totaling 7,061.5, composed of the following:
   Community Services  4,445    
   Disease/Medical  870.5   
   Fraternal Org  230.
   Education  580.   
   Religeous  741.   
   Community  195.

Special recognition was given to Florence Wile-Hodsdon, Anne and Mark Andrews
for their extended time served on various committees on the Headlighters and/or
VALUR boards.

Door prizes were awarded throughout the meeting
